Guns in Post Offices? Well, I don't like that idea....
Just received in my email:
Prior to a 2007 regulation banning guns in post offices, post office shootings were so common that the term going postal became synonymous with workplace shootings.
Despite this tragic history, Senator Rand Paul has introduced an amendment to the postal reform bill to once again allow guns in post offices. The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee is considering the amendment this week.
Will you call and urge Committee Chair Tom Carper to defeat the amendment and keep guns out of post offices?

The gun lobby sees this amendment as a gateway to rolling back all federal laws that prohibit guns in sensitive areas, and is campaigning hard for its passage.
Its part of a long-standing effort to use legislation that has nothing to do with firearms policy to weaken federal gun laws. Theyre hoping the amendment will slip through without notice.
But your voice can help persuade our allies on the committee to deliver for us.
All the best,
