SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to consider a request by Christian groups on a college campus to allow them to limit membership based on religious beliefs.
Justice turned back a legal effort by a Christian fraternity and sorority at San Diego State University that challenged an anti-discrimination policy at California state universities.
The lawsuit filed in 2005 said the plaintiffs should be allowed to insist members follow their religious standards of conduct and avoid sex outside of marriage between a man and woman.

(6,187 posts)...feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and drive them away. Even those who want Shaira law in America aren't so fucking stupid as to insist it apply to anyone and everyone.
This is/was about getting a legal ruling that gave "Christians" a special, protected codified place in law.

(10,340 posts)When is the last time you heard of a group of American Muslims turning to violence because they didn't get their way?
Are you saying that all Muslims are violent?
What exactly are you trying to say?
btw, enjoy your stay here on DU...

(30,058 posts)Why should valuable time be taken up in court when the justices knows what the outcome is going to be by law. Just like the birthers confining to bring up the bc. Justices knows the law the birthers don't.
