Get a load of what George Zimmerman said about his boxing experience
By Jonathan Capehart | January 31 at 3:06 pm

“Boxing isn’t new to me. It’s something I had picked up well before the incident and it’s something that I liked, I enjoyed, and I kept up with it and I was able to lose a tremendous amount of weight and get a healthy lifestyle,” he told Radar. “So it’s not a new hobby, it’s something I have been doing and wanting to pursue to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

You may recall that during “the incident,” Zimmerman said he was sucker-punched and overpowered by Trayvon. That he was screaming for his life. It was a line of defense I found lacking in credibility. His boxing comments to Radar further cement my view. As one person tweeted to Zimmerman in reaction to the interview, “Wait wait wait … you used to box and still couldn’t beat up a skinny teenager?

I remember one of them telling me it's just instinct to use that training and always be aware of what could happen, especially in a confrontational situation. I don't believe for a second Zimmerman, who approached Trayvon, wasn't ready to fight, and let himself be sucker punched and taken down. If I'm wrong and it did happen ........ good for Trayvon.

was killed by a boxer here in town - it turns out the boxer knew exactly where to punch to kill him so the boxer got extra time in jail because the victim didn't provoke him or anything and the boxer knew his hands were basically lethal weapons.

So no way Zimmerman was the victim here, IMO. Impossible.

he's a damn coward. If anyone boxes with him , check his gloves , might be a .22 in there.

And yet supposedly, he was unable to get out of being pinned to the ground by a much smaller teenager. Ground fighting and how to escape being pinned are one of the first things they teach in MMA.

driven to the ground by someone half his size, and unable to escape a pin from someone half his size. If he's half as well trained as he claims, he utterly fails at life. I can't wait to see The Game beat him stupid(er).

Can we please make a George Zimmerman sub-forum so other people don't have to read about every tiny detail of this mans life?

Seriously, people may be following his every move through the news cause they very much dislike him. That however doesn't change how asinine this is.

I say they should be free too, but can't it have its own forum?

This is exactly what I mean. The sheer meanness these threads inspire is frightening.

Go ahead and lecture me about how what zimmerman did justifies being rude to people who have nothing to do with it on the internet .

except that he didn't even need "to beat up" that teenager. He just had to defend himself.

But I remember the scene from "Joe Somebody" when Joe is hitting a boxing dummy and his daughter says "yeah, what if he hits you back. He HAS arms you know."
