Well, later tonight, after my kiddo goes to bed, I will watch the SOTU

I expect great speeching from Obama. He does it really well. And then, I will go on with my day. I've lived through enough SOTUs to know that it's just pomp and circumstance, meaning little in the end. But this one seems to have set off a firestorm, so I'm interested in knowing what got people going. I've been carefully avoiding spoilers so don't put any here. Thanks.

I never watched during the idiot son's reign of stupidity because his fake Texas accent went right up my spine. But before him and after him, I've watched, but I don't see it as much of anything but, as you said, theater. Once I stopped slavishly believing everything Obama said, I didn't stop watching his speeches. He gives great speech. And his speechwriters are great. It's a much higher grade theater these days.

But I don't think I'm going to join in the fray. It's just a speech.
