As a young man, he made me feel less cynical about the country and government in general.

He brought me to the Democratic Party.

I need to see what else he does with what's left of his term. He could do a great deal, since he no longer needs to spare a thought towards re-election.

Let's hope DU stays on this positive trend. Maybe people are cottoning to the fact that POTUS is on our side and is quite effective, especially considering the rock he's been forced to push uphill.

These polls really need to be broken down by issues. Sure, I approve of not defending DOMA and relaxing federal drug sentencing guidelines, but not TPP, the NSA, or the drone program.

They're all important in their own right, and because of that, I can't categorically approve or disapprove of the president.

The wording is identical to that used by actual pollsters. For better or worse. And here you can leave a comment which you did.

But yes, it does help to be able to actually comment rather than just a "yes/no" answer.

economy.......better than where it was headed.......but 7% unemployment isn't truthful
wars ..... yep we still got em...and he is still saying he will close GITMO
spying on Americans..............shifted that into overdrive
social spending...........again better than where it was headed ..... but flat
healthcare reform... health insurance package passed that helped a bunch, hurt a bunch so meh
"Federal Contracted" work minimum pay to $10.10 that's slippery.......not as it seems
most transparent administration......no better than any other

So my option would be ......Yeah..he's slightly better than the one before, but 5 years into this, there is nothing that can be called a clear sign that Obama is anything but just "the next guy".
