Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsScumbaugh said today that Obama used the ranger to show America what Bush had done to
men like Cory Remsburg. If that's what he and other lovers of war got from the presence of this victim of Bushco's wars then it's good enough for me.
They hate looking at what they did by lying America into an illegal war.

This, btw, is the first and probably only time you will catch me agreeing with Limbaugh.

pathetic Republicon chickenhawkery into sharp relief.
Rush blabs and splutters about an honorable American soldier so pathetically,
because it is his desperate scramble to go AWOL from facing the truth.

I hope the veteran did not feel "used", but only honored... But, still, I could appreciate the symbolism as well.

70. What I saw was: "OK you SOBs, this is the consequence of war without end"
"This maimed soldier is the consequence of Bushco's wars of choice. Go ahead, McCain --I know you've never seen a war you didn't want to send someone else to. I didn't take us into Syria, and I will veto useless sanctions against Iran. Give peace a chance."
POTUS had a lot more to say -- all relevant. Fuck, Will. I'm sorry you didn't see the same speech I saw, even tho I certainly didn't see a god up there.

According to how I read the OP, Limbaugh had the experience of having his nose rubbed in it, and recognized it as being presented for what it was: not a glorification of war like Bushco, but a cautionary example.

(16,855 posts)People need to see what's been done to these guys. A large portion of Americans are just as guilty as Bush and Congress are for supporting these wars. And don't forget the media. The only person in the media who was critical of it, at least the only one I saw, was Phil Donahue, and MSNBC dropped him like a hot potato. There is plenty of blame to go around.

Hey...maybe all three are correct. It's a starting point for WHY these WARS are WRONG in the first place and if Dems & Repugs can agree on that....at least there's now a dialog.

(46,416 posts)than bring his story of his service and his struggles to the country's attention in a time when we are tired of war and many have not been touched by it at all, or seem to have forgotten it. I don't think it was meant as pro-war OR anti-war. Just a dose of reality, and a way to honor and recognize him.
