because my dad died 7 years ago and left me enough to live on.
Otherwise, it would be a studio apartment in a worse part of town and nothing to live on but Social Security and food stamps.
I'd rather have my dad still here, though.

I had a good enough income to support a divorced sister with a couple kids on my income then.

(10,337 posts)6. Nope! 29 years ago I had a beautiful house in mill Valley Ca. With
Two Ferrari's and a rice rocket in the garage. Now I have a 6 year old F150 and a modest house in Tucson. Don't get me wrong, I am not uncomfortable but I pretty much clawed my way through the last 29 years to get what I have now.
