A dissenting SOTU opinion from abroad

American exceptionalism - front and center.
TPP & TTIP on fast track.
Ongoing War on Terror, no accountability for Bush*co war crimes or NSA overreach.
Repeated use of support-our-military rhetoric - which to me feels like using honest emotions to justify imperialism & MIC.
Near the end, stated as a key goal: expanding markets for our corporations.

The speech had many good points, at least rhetorically. I was impressed with the equal rights for women angle, for one.

I'm just saying that if you look at it as a skeptical foreigner, it's more of the same on the points that impact the "rest of the world" - with the rhetorical exception of calling climate change a fact.
