My friend Mikel Wisser(D) is running for Congress in Kingman AZ...
He was in the St. Paddy's Day Parade dressed up like the Statue Of Liberty while holding a civics textbook and had an exchange with Shariff Joe Arpaio! Here is Mikels' own words to describe it:
"SO, i'm in the St Paddy's day parade and what is greener than the Statue of Liberty, right? So, i am wearing my Statue of Liberty costume and carrying my "With Liberty and Justice for All" sign, which is the US map in rainbow colors. The crowd is loving it and i am at a point when i am walking the opposite direction of the parade and up rides Joe Arpaio himself, in the back of a convertible. When they get up to me, the car suddenly stops, Sheriff Joe leans forward and bellows, "What's all that supposed to be about?" I'm just standing there so i yell back, "Liberty and Justice for All? You've heard of it, right?" He says, "Yeah?" And i say, "All right then." and resume walking."
