This week I received in the mail (in a legal matter that's not relevant to this post)

certified copies of my grandparents' voter registration forms from 1954. They lived in small-town NV. He was a man of the law, having been a deputy sheriff and police chief for many years. She was a practicing Mormon; he was a jack Mormon.

Imagine my delight in seeing that they both registered DEMOCRATIC!

I seem to remember my dad saying they were Roosevelt Democrats, but he passed away 30 years ago, so I never really verified it.
