Latest Wars More Costly Than Vietnam In Human Terms

As a Vietnam vet I saw enough in 67 - 68. Our company alone had 27 KIA and some I knew personally. Our battalion had hundreds of KIA's the year that I was there. I used to go to the headquarters company log and look at our KIA and casualty report almost every day. The kinds of deaths were terrible. One fellow took a direct hit by a rocket as I recall. Fortunately I was a company clerk who lucked out on a job otherwise I would have been out in the field the entire year.

As costly as that war was the Iraq war has been more costly as far as I am concerned. Afghanistan even adds to what I am about to say. We have over 5000 KIA in both wars. And were have the over 200,000 brain injury of various severity and PTSD inflicting who knows how many.l And we will have all the uncounted suicides over the coming years directly related to these wars.

The point is that we have over 200,000 living dead and even more if you count PTSD. These wars are even more brutal due to IED's in that brain injuries take away most of your soul. You lose you ability to think and even lose your personality. Many of our soldiers are not living zombies because so much of who they were is lost forever. And they are forever locked into living with what is left of them. And for some it is very little function. Many are young men who really have to be in nursing homes living like debilitated old people with multiple health problems. They need 24 hour nursing care just to live or do routine tasks.

Many families now take care of these soldiers and it destroys the fabric and promise of the family. And the GOP wants to cut the care for these soldiers directly or by forcing Democratic politicians to do the same using the deficit to force cuts. The GOP is the first to wave the flag, BUT THESE ARE THE FIRST VICIOUS SCUMBAG BASTARDS TO CUT VETS CARE.

I know what these GOP assholes are up to because I saw what they did to Vietnam vets. They always apposed funding for vets and Nixon cut the GI Bill in 1969. So I have not use for Republicans of any stripe. And so it goes for another generation of veterans.

To make a long story short we have over 205,000 KIA in these wars if you count the "living dead" .
