by FisherOfRolando
Just now on the Rachel Maddow Show.
"The Office Of The Governor" also the office of his re-election campaign.
6:26 PM PT: State Rep Wisniewski said that this includes anything written by the Governor. The people subpoenaed have to turn in their cell phones.

(8,377 posts)the IRS thing and Benghazi ... BENGHAZI !!!
In the IRS case, it isn't clear that ANYTHING was done improperly. And there is certainly no evidence that anybody near the White House ordered anything improper at the IRS. And in Benghazi, there hasn't been any evidence -- not even a claim or insinuation that Obama or anybody else at the WH ordered the attacks on our own assets.
In the case of Christie, it is beyond any doubt that Christie's office -- people working literally a few feet from Christie every single day -- ordered that attack on our own people. The closest comparison to that is Blogo.
And he went to prison for that.

(5,141 posts)I took a lot of time off this board after the election so forgive me if this is old news, this ran in November 2013. I'm gobsmacked. Here's a little tidbit about Chris Christie:
He was also a fundraising dynamo, but he and his staff were overbearing and hard to work with, demanding in ways that would have been unthinkable from any other surrogate. Months earlier, Christie had banned Romney from raising money in New Jersey until Christie had given the O.K. to do soa move Romney found galling, like something out of The Sopranos. Are you kidding me, Mitt thought. Hes going to do that? There were plenty of New Jersey donors whod given money to Mitt in 2008; now Christie was trying to impose a gag order on talking to them? He sounds like the biggest asshole in the world, Stevens griped to his partner, Russ Shriefer. More recently, Trenton insisted on private jets, lavish spreads of food, space for a massive entourage. Romney ally Wayne Berman looked at the bubble around Christie and thought, Hes not the President of the United States, you know.

(1,035 posts)BFD. Big Fucking Deal. The subpoena requires the people to turn over any electronic device used including phones, tablets, laptops used in the last 18 months. This is giving me Watergate flashbacks. The re-election campaign was involved. The involvement was at the highest levels compelling document production from the campaign's manager and finance director. The legal teams are going to be working over the weekend to assess how badly they're fucked. It will be interesting to see if the strategy involves fighting the subpoenas. If it does, as it did in Watergate, somebody high up has a lot to hide.

(535 posts)I imagine his cheerful disposition since hitting the scene didn't help him leading up to this moment.
Hope they nail him & his cronies.
