Actually, a suggestion to guarantee the safety of the water.
Since the powers that be are saying that it's ok to drink the water now, maybe the CEO of the company that made the mess should be required to be the first one to take a drink. In public, from Joe Citizen's faucet. If he lives and doesn't get sick, the water's safe. If not, too bad. Should have thought about that before they poisoned the water supply.

(86,804 posts)It might take a little time to find the news article for this but I recall waaaay back in the 1980s when the malathion spraying issue was rampant in California because of the Mediterranean fruit fly, one of the proponents of the malathion spraying went on TeeVee and drank a glass of the shit (or so it was said to be and was probably seriously diluted if it was any amount of actual malathion in that glass). He didn't fall over dead that day but he did die from cancer at an early age years later.
Malathion was touted as harmless to humans and pets but there were warnings spread on days prior to spraying (at least in San Diego County) that advised people to cover or garage their vehicles and keep pets indoors during the spraying and not let the pets eat or drink out of dishes left outside when spraying took place and for us to wash any produce we ate afterward.
