coverage of scandals. Especially when one network is not above manufacturing them! Also, I think negative reporting, reporting where the reporter is going negative on some one or some issue, seems to get more people to watch than just reporting facts. This is what allows Fox to get their viewers so angry it hardens their position on issues so that they will not have an open mind to other facts or arguments. The fault lies with us as a people for allowing our airwaves to be used in such a manner. It all falls under "entertainment" now whereas when I was much younger the news department was kept separate from the influence of the sales department. Cronkite is rolling over in his grave!

it comes to everything Christie-related. All other "serious" sources (looking at you, NPR), are doing nothing but reciting recycled talking points (upset at non-endorsement) as the motive behind it.

certain corporate stories, presumably for ad dollars. Case in point, Rachel Maddow (I am a big fan) has not been back to the Gulf to follow up on the oil spill as she promised to do. If she did she would find massive corruption and evidence of what one of the largest corporations can do to influence the Justice system and the media. I do not blame her, I don't believe she has been allowed to go.
BP has been the single largest advertiser on the Gulf Coast since the spill. No media outlet will dare to print or air any victims stories for fear of losing this much needed revenue. BP has also confidentially bought up every documentary on the spill. They even sponsored the U.S. Olympic team for the last Olympics. I repeat, a British company sponsored the U.S. Olympic team! This was right before news of their trial with Halliburton and Trans Ocean was originally scheduled to start.
Come on down Rachel, the water is not fine!

6. I'm also glad to see Rachel's ratings up while fox goes down.

In my opinion, fox has had the most negative influence on the "news" than any other corporate news. Fox made it common to lie, not follow up, lie, use no facts, lie, use racist and misogynist language, lie, overtly promote an agenda, and did I mention, lie. While other corporate networks were a little slow to catch on, Fox's ratings got their attention. As the corporate networks expanded their reach into publishing, we saw unabashed selling of books, no matter how shady or dishonest the author.

Fox tapped into the darkest soul of America and was successful. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think so many Americans were so stupid and gullible. That's been the hardest truth to accept for the last 30 years.

get the information. The Teabaggers don't like Christie so they ventured to the one place they KNOW will give the whole story in time.

8. A little misleading...she won in the 25-54 demo, not overall. I wish they'd give the WHOLE story

I dont like to boast to people only to be told "not really". If you only read the story linked, you dont really get the entire story. Yes, that demo is important, but when I read that she beat Fox, i read that she had more viewers.

9. Fake news is not a news agency but a propaganda machine

for one political party which is the insane GOPs.

Although MSNBC covers many of the progressive issues and truly does expose many of the so called scandals by either debunking them or verifying them, I find that a bit refreshing from what I have seen in the last 15 years or so of pure garbage from our so called "fair and balance" bullshit corporate media owned by their corporate masters including bullshit polling that varies from total inept to crap.

Since the Clinton administration did away with the "fair act" in journalism it has opened up the gates of hell for anyone who does on toll in line with the party of hell no. So yeah, thanks Rachael!
