There was a lot of out of state (and out of country) money put into Corbett's campaign, the Democratic challenger was not particularly strong, and all of the newspapers in western Pennsylvania are owned by extreme right wingers. The population of western Pennsylvania is older and many of these people still rely on newspapers for endorsements.

In spite of the odds, some of us did go out and vote. We got stuck with Governor Corrupt and have every right to complain about everything idiotic thing that he says and does.
