A deputy Chief of Staff is generally doing what the Chief of Staff wants done.

I don't get the media's take on this Christie thing as definitionaly limited to whatever Chris Christie says it is.

When a deputy chief of staff does something in an official capacity (like sending a message initiating a pre-planned crooked act) why would anyone assume, as a default position, that person was acting on their own initiative??

Perhaps she was... could be the case... but it isn't at all obvious.
