The unmitigated joy of many including me in this whole Christie business is quite fascinating:

Many of us, including this writer, were bullied in school, at camp, on the playground, in our own homes, and anywhere else miscreants are permitted to wander. I for one was mercilessly pounded for six years in my grade school and then finally grew enough height, muscle, and fortitude to punch the goddamned lights out of this particular anti-Semitic creep, and no one ever laid a hand on me again at that school. And mind you, this was a Quaker school where I was permitted by the faculty and the playground staff to be assaulted on a daily basis. My Mom never knew of the volume of this because I was too proud to tell her, but later in life I confessed and she was, of course, upset that I hadn't said anything much to her, but understood that that was how things were perceived by young boys in that era.

All that being said, many of us who were the victims all those years shrank from this Governor of New Jersey and were repelled by his affect. Watching and listening to him in those confrontations made the fear and bile rise up in my guts and my psyche and I hated him...no, despised him for that behavior. Perhaps "detested him" is a better phrase. In fact, as they used to say in MAD magazine, "Him I didn't like."

But after that press conference today, I actually hate him even more. That despicable self-victimization, that phoney upset and stages of grief BS was almost more than I could take. I could actually hear the coach hired for this express purpose telling him how to be phony-contrite, phony-responsible, phony-sanctimonious, phony-concerned, phony-incredulous, phony-moral, and phony-concerned. But he's not fooling most: he is an individual who clearly has an impulse-control disorder and megalomania, among other pathologies. I am eagerly awaiting chapter 2.

The things this guy has done. His demeanor. The things he's done to good friends of mine. The things he's done to the state, to teachers, to public workers. Phoney tough guy. Bully. Self-promoting creep. I'll put together a litany of his transgressions. Right now I'm just too thrilled to see him and his goon squad squirm.

I wanted to look it up myself, to have that info at the tip of my tongue in case somebody else wanted further evidence. This bastard LIED at his press conference today. COMPLETE HOGWASH about this so-called "tone" he supposedly worked so hard to set in his administration over the past four years. Holy cannoli! Are you kidding me? This was his hallmark! What he's famous for!!! It's given me extra pleasure through the day watching the coverage - and all the video clips that have been unearthed, and replayed, of him with his finger in somebody's face, or addressing them with utter disrespect and rudeness and an aggressive, confrontational in-yer-face display.

I apologize, but this whole affair has kept thinking of this one scene in Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," where the actress playing the wife of Jeff Garlin's somewhat portly character (in one of many times she was pissed at him) shouts "YOU FAT FUCK!!!!"

not as drastic as you, but bullied just the same. I recall a time in high school when i stepped back from my wall locker in front of one of the "big man on campus" types. he huffed and puffed and said he was going to kick my ass for getting in his way. I meekly said i did not want to fight and talked my way out of getting my ass kicked. I forgot about the incident but, later in the day i was called into the principles office and accused of causing a ruckus in the halls. I tried to tell my side but was just told i was a trouble maker and sent home for the day. I silently told him to get fucked and went home.
This incident was just one of many i experienced in my life and probably explains why i am what i am to some extent.

on Chris Hayes' show this evening. She recalled calling some of them attempting to generate donations for her campaign and was told repeatedly that they didn't dare risk the wrath of christie - wouldn't dare give her more than the under-the-radar $300 - because "this guy likes to hurt people." WTF kind of way is THAT to run a state? I remember reading a quote referring to bush/cheney and the iron-fisted way they ran things - and how much they appreciated intimidating their opposition. And I think it was dick cheney who appreciated a policy dating back to Roman times or some such (maybe it was Caligula or somebody like that?) and the key quote was - "let them hate, as long as they fear." Fear is a formidable weapon, and too many bad guys know and appreciate - AND use it.

I guess this was christie's thing, too. And yeah, it can gain you "allies," but they're paper thin, and they resent how ham-handed you've been to them, and they don't forget easily.

bully and I've hated the guy from Day One. I had to deal with my son's bully's parents, and they were bullies as well -- that is, until I told them that my lawyer will be talking to their lawyer if my son ever came home with even a hair out of place.

Yes, bullies will always blame everyone but themselves, so it's no surprise he's throwing his minions under the bus. If they expected anything else and are surprised, well, maybe they'll wise up.

That took him to Judo classes. After that the next time someone got in face my brother was able to throw the kid over his shoulder.

And Judo is good too because you do not hurt the other person. You are taught how to make sure you do not hurt the other person.

It's is an idea for anyone whose kid is being bullied. I took Judo in college and I bet I could still throw someone over my shoulder.

is not uncommon among those of the so called conservative persuasion. I give you their leader, Rush. The worst bully on the planet. Oh their pathology does manifest itself is many different ways. But all seem to lack empathy. Christie is a rat. I hope they impeach him for his crimes. And maybe NJ voters will elect someone who is honest. Like NYC new mayor.

parents' didn't know how to fight back. He got away with some really nasty stuff. When he decided to punish (and a week later, persecute) my son for making an unconsidered verbal response when a kid who had bullied him for years shoved him in front of an on coming car (and not even at school! This was in our neighborhood nearly an hour after school was out), I was incensed. However, as my husband had a heart attack the same week and I handled the situation by removing my son from that school (I should have sued!).

A year later, the bully principal met his match when a dean at the school caught him in a compromising peccadillo, he finally resigned saying he couldn't take the constant persecution any more...

I went into school the next morning singing "Ding Dong, the witch is dead! Ding Dong the Wicked witch is dead!"

It's been nearly six years now, and I still sing that little ditty in my head when I think of him.

So, when Christie goes down, I suggest we all plasted the Internet/social media with this:

that shit for years. And along comes Christie who we all knew was a bully in passing if we don't live in NJ but the last couple of days Mr Christie's bully past and present is coming back to bite him in ways he and his observers never even dreamed of! Is that why I'm so fascinated with Gov Bully's fall from perch?

"I could actually hear the coach hired for this express purpose telling him how to be phony-contrite, phony-responsible, phony-sanctimonious, phony-concerned, phony-incredulous, phony-moral, and phony-concerned."

That's what I've been saying.. Christie had a hellava drama coach.. only he should have mentioned that it would go down a little better if he weren't wallowing in so much pity for himself.. and move it on to the People of his state.

Sorry, you had to go through such encounters with bullies growing up, PC.
