I watched and read all day yesterday and most of today. At least today I worked while I watched, even though I am a teacher on break.

I love the DU posts, the cartoons, the pundits, and stuff like what the OP posted here. The front pages with the puns are the frosting on the cake.

Watching these political scandals is great fun when it's the other party undergoing the pain.

"Deh, deh, deh, he trumped up the socialist in the white house just before the election and now he's wrecking his 2016 chances. It's deliberate. You know it is."

Or they already have done that and they're piling on more. Should go over to the wingnut sites and sniff around.

Hand me my Eric Cartman Frisco Suit. I'm goin' in!

you really have to imagine Christie sitting back in his chair behind closed doors asking The question to his aids/advisor's ,can we actually do this ? Than giving the go ahead having been reassured it would never fall back on him.

The result now is that old political hot box compare to the baseball hot box, Christie is frantically trying to get back on one base or the other without being tagged. Or being caught as the saying goes.

So, thus far he did what Nixon said he did, he in a manner of speaking cut off one arm ! Meaning he tossed one on his own under the old bus.

Take a look at the video of Rob Ford on crack to gather a rather insidious idea of what went down behind closed doors when the Christie thing went down. Power is an intoxicant and those wack jobs are polluted.

As far as apologetic goes ,the both of them are politicians and politicians are like actors where it is always about keeping up the act, what you call becoming apologetic in ones portrayal in character. So the reviews seem to indicate his act seemed believable and it had to be in order for Christie to save his own ass.

The Mayor who's locality took the hit said publicly Christie appeared to be sorry.Consider Christie has presidential ambitions and further know his acting abilities are as good or better than most actors. Politically he came off believable and thats what he had to do.Therefore for his party at that end to it he delivered. But he remains in that old hot box and will further remain suspect. So, it ain't over till it's over.

The guy is glib and comes across as (sorta) believable.

He does remind me a bit of Sgt. Shultz.
