(37,748 posts)I honestly didn't know that. I've been under the impression that a person could "line-item" (so to speak) their choice as to whether answer one or another in a series of questions or not.
Then again, my legal knowledge comes from the script-writers at Boston Legal and Law & Order.

(94,602 posts)...you can only refuse to answer questions that may incriminate you; however, by answering a seemingly innocuous question like "did you work for the Port Authority", you may find yourself unable to avoid answering a related incriminating question in the future.

(1,035 posts)Wildstein Atty: Redactions were done because they were outside date or don't deal with the subject matter. Atty offers right to review redactions... Offers unredacted versions after he deals with ctte counsel.
Ctte Chair to W Atty: Where is the redactions log? We asked for it and you didn't supply it.
Ctte Chair: Your client is still under subpoena. Gist is W's atty better pony up.

(1,035 posts)Cloud over his head. Definitely love politics. Known you for 25 years. blah. Invoking 5th goes against the openness that Christie's administration prides itself on. Don't let David Wildstein be the fall guy. Be candid with this committee. blah.

(86,650 posts)if he gets immunity, I bet he squeals. But then, Christie surely has a hit squad on retainer so... NJ is a major sized racket and there are sooo many crooks to protect there. Wonder how many of the players end up missing or found in the river or under a construction trash heap.
