Bullshit. If he didn't know anything then why the cover-up style?

Christie's Checkers speech may work, just like the real Checkers speech did for Nixon, but we all saw how he handled this in real time, back when it started.

If he did not know anything then why the manic confidence that he knew EVERYTHING?

Even if one stipulated that he knew nothing (I do not stipulate that, but for the sake of argument) his actions were indicative of suspecting that his staff might have done something like that. Because the whole deal was cover-up mode.

IMO.

Anyway, I already heard this stuff in the original, when Nixon fired Halderman and Erlichman.
