He can claim not to know him but it's ridiculoous to assert he didn't know OF him. The governor of NJ can be expected to know that Fort Lee has a mayor. He knows his campaign team was rounding up campaign endorsements from various office holders on both sides of the aisle. That's the larger story. Who else - well we know about the Jersey City mayor - may have been retaliated against by using public assets simply because they didn't endorse the Bully of the Bridge?

The governor said he might have met him in a line up or at a function or something but that he doesn't remember him. I have met a lot of people over time and couldn't pick them out in a lineup either. That is not unusual.

That said I think the governor was very likely involved or at least had knowledge of this earlier than yesterday. He might be lying that he could or could not identify the mayor if he saw him in a room. But regardless this photo proves nothing.

Christie does the ol' Grip and Grin with thousands of Jerseyans every year. He couldn't possibly be expected to remember them all. The other side of this is, Christie only sits down and talks with mayors who worship at his feet - a description that excludes Sokolich.

the fall and the Port Authority guy as well. Very difficult to do with the country watching, probably had to involve others into the new conspiracy. We haven't heard a fraction of the shit that is going to come out. I am sure this is not the 1st illegal, petty BS thing he and his staff did since he took office.
