Here - seriously - is what's happening with Christie

Now that the US Attorney is getting involved, it's not just a political scandal. With criminal charges potentially looming, he wants to be able to hang out to dry anyone who didn't come forward in this "one hour" demand for information, in case another scandal comes out.

It would be nice if there was but we shouldn't get our hopes up. Smoking guns are very rare in politics.

If those aids are facing significant jail time, they might pull him under the bus with him.

But given that Republicans are coddled by this White House...

Regardless, I do think Christie's future is in politics has ended. I'd say we could all breathe a sigh of relief but I don't think the GOP -with Christie or without- has a chance at the White House for the foreseeable future anyways.

Christie could still end up in jail, or at least resign. At first, Bob McDonnell and his thugs denied any wrong doing. See how that turned out?

If Christie does complete his term(likely at this point), he will not be the next President. If nothing else, this had damaged his image and deepened suspicion with the tea party (the base).
