The drama of impeachment of the New Jersey Governor?

This bridge closure fiasco looks like the end of his political career, the bigger question is, will the NJ Legislature begin impeachment process if the facts support Christie's direct involvement and subsequent attempt of a coverup? Little question that Christie is merely a thug who has strong-armed his way in life. Has it finally caught up to him and his people?

The drama aint over for sure.

then we can talk about impeachment. At this point, it's just about the culture of corruption in the area that I see every single day.

and sooner or later the democratic legislature is going to grow a pair.......Christie is a mega maniac micro manager, nothing happens that he doesn't know about and sooner or later some one will roll over on him. Mega maniacs like Christie believe they are untouchable. This drama is far from over

Puts mainstream GOP in a tough position of having to defend Christie as the their extremist are going to do everything they can to get a noose around his neck.

drama is just beginning

1) Christie isn't so stupid as to tie himself directly to it, even though he obviously knew it was going on.

2) Republican politics are always about who you hate more. And while NJ/NY folks hate traffics, if you're a Republican you hate Unions, teachers, poor people, etc. more so as long as Christie still hates on those other groups, even if Republicans were impacted by and pissed about the bridge thing, they'll still support him.

and sometime that overcomes brains. He thinks he's so smart and tough, he could bully his way through this. Didn't happen, now he's screwed.

His arrogance allowed him to think that he could get away with more and more. And he kept pushing.

Hopefully, there is enough of a trail.

covering up what happened, that could lead to cause for impeachment. But keep in mind, he's had all this time to cover his tracks if he was directly involved and that is what could bring him down. Otherwise, he can do what he's currently doing, claim plausible deniability.

What's worse? Being directly tied to the scandal or looking like you don't know what's going on right under your nose?

The specific misdemeanor.

http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/lawsconstitution/constitution.asp

SECTION III

l. The Governor and all other State officers, while in office and for two years thereafter, shall be liable to impeachment for misdemeanor committed during their respective continuance in office.

2. The General Assembly shall have the sole power of impeachment by vote of a majority of all the members. All impeachments shall be tried by the Senate, and members, when sitting for that purpose, shall be on oath or affirmation "truly and impartially to try and determine the charge in question according to the evidence". No person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of all the members of the Senate. When the Governor is tried, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall preside and the President of the Senate shall not participate in the trial.

3. Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and to disqualification to hold and enjoy any public office of honor, profit or trust in this State; but the person convicted shall nevertheless be liable to indictment, trial and punishment according to law.
