Call me crazy, but if a Republican is involved in a scandal (such as Christie)...

...and we know about that scandal--then I can't help but wonder what is going on underneath the surface.

I mean, come on. Most Republicans are immoral, disgusting, sociopaths who are steeped in corruption.

Most manage to keep their sins and shenanigans under wraps. If this new Christie scandal has been unearthed, I suspect that fellow Republicans are the ones moving the dirt to reveal the nastiness below ground.

We only know--what they want us to know. This feels like part of a campaign.

Somewhere in the bowels of the Republican party, the elites decided that Christie shouldn't run for President--and that some other Republican should be the one to take the helm. Who knows, maybe they told Christie not to run and he refused and this is signal-one from the establishment to get the hell out of the race.

So, who is the new guy? Any Koch-funded favorites or Fascist Republican up-and-comers to mind?

1. I just watched the SIX segments regarding Christie from Maddow's show tonight...

... and I do not think it has anything to do with Republicans trying to keep Christie from running in 2016.

It all starting when a 'local' reporter started digging and didn't let up on the story.

The six Maddow segments are here: http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show
The show from tonight: January 8th

p.s. The first one will load and the rest will play automatically.

presenting the big picture, and Chris Hayes has been something of a firebrand since New Year's Day himself. he had the Mayor of Ft. Lee on and that guy said that the guy who made the call (Christies' buddy) should get an "ass kicking" right there on the air!!

this is getting real good, and I think that because of the local reporter and the fact that the bridge is so important, it's going to leave a big mark on Christie. It's just sounds like him to order up something like that, the arrogant putz.

Thanks. I didn't think it had anything to do with repubs just from reading about it today. But, I was wondering how they get those private emails that Bridget Kelly and Wildstein had sent each other.. never thinking anyone else in the world would see them but them.

I mean it is pretty fishy from the get-go.. closing the GWB for 4 days for a Traffic Study.. I can imagine it wouldn't make sense to a local reporter.. it didn't to any of us.

4. The emails/correspondence were subpoenaed. There are around 2,000 documents altogether...

... but only 22 have been released so far.

Probably after the hearing tomorrow more will be released to the public, I don't know exactly when.

still on the computer someplace!

"2000 docs" on Christie "working the cones". hmmm. I'm watching Rachel now.. fascinating. I've been watching this story but really got into it today like so many. And, why not? Hubris being taken down a notch or two..

Has been looping Christies "statement" on what locally is being called Bridge Gate. I really hope his name is in the redactions and that we see more today. We have a right to know.

"redactions"? The emails themselves were bad enough.. I hadn't thought about Christie's name being there.. but now I am!

I like State Senator John Wisniewski whom I saw explaining things on Rachel. Seems very capable.

LO'D was wondering why Bridget Kelly hadn't been fired yet as have I. They were speculating that he had to be sure she would back him up that he didn't know anything about anything.

They forgot they share the bridge - all lies - lots of contradictions from day one.

The idea of this being a signal is interesting. Sort of like the horse's head in the bed.
