WTF!

Leaked Memo Shows Republicans Being Coached on How to be Compassionate to the Unemployed

Republican whisperer Robert Costa has moved to the Washington Post, where he revealed that House Republican leaders are having to coach the entire GOP conference how to sound empathetic to the unemployed. The memo explains to what can only be robots that being unemployed is a “personal crisis”.

Costa wrote:

House Republican leaders sent a memo this week to the entire GOP conference with talking points designed to help rank-and-file Republicans show compassion for the unemployed and explain the Republican position on unemployment benefits. In the memo, which was obtained by The Washington Post, House Republicans are urged to be empathetic toward the unemployed and understand how unemployment is a “personal crisis” for individuals and families. The memo also asks Republicans to reiterate that the House will give “proper consideration” to an extension of long-term insurance as long as Democrats are willing to support spending or regulatory reforms.

Republicans are told to respond that they will consider extending unemployment benefits if Democrats can be fiscally responsible (a hurdle that Republicans have failed to meet when they are in charge- see Medicare Part D, the renewal of long term unemployment benefits under every other President but this one, etc). Republicans are then supposed to pivot to the issue of how they are working hard to create jobs.

This would be awkward if the press were ever to ask exactly how Republicans are working on creating jobs, since their standard answer of Keystone XL is actually not a jobs plan at all.

They need to be coached on how to show empathy and compassion! They just did the same meeting on how to talk to women in the upcoming elections. The are so souless, devoid of humanity and clueless that they have to be taught to say the right thing? Are you serious?

Gawd Damnit! If you don't get out to vote Blue in 2014 then I guess you have no right to complain!

Vote the bastards out! Vote them out!

SO they could do their best to mimic people with real feelings toward their constituents back home for votes. They've been too busy slashing aid to the poor to realize how it makes them look. I think they like making the working class suffer and pretend this indifference to understanding only when it suits them.

They have no empathy, and it shows, which is hurting their brand, so like everything else, they must now fake it.

Sociopaths know how to mimic compassion. You'll find that in a lot of the descriptions about them.

I tried to read this book by a sociopath (I think it's called Diary of a Sociopath) but I had to quit on the fourth page because it was too disturbing.

Anyway, the point is that this group of people are beyond sociopaths because they have to be taught how to mimic emotion.

Psychopaths? Is that a step up/down from sociopaths?

...I'm not surprised in the slightest. And do you you know what is even more galling than the fact they do this?

The fact that it actually works. Not just 'works', but works WELL. And we let it work, because its easy to dismiss so many people (particularly in so-called red states like my own) as hateful bigots, when so many of them are just people trying to hang onto some semblance of a life, trained by these very people to live in fear of other people.

Both you and the previous poster somehow seem to think I'm being serious, or at least don't get what I was saying. I was saying I took 'offense' because the picture didn't go -far enough- in depicting just how badly a Republican who wanted to 'pat you on the back' was going to try to hurt you. Joke picture, joke comment...?

I'm sorry, I thought it would have been quite self-evident.

I am out of money and unemployment. I have a job interview Thursday.

If I get the job I don't know how to gas the car to get there or eat for the 11 days until payday.

My tools are locked in a storage unit which I owe money on and the cell phone is due.

Do these pricks really want us to be criminals to survive?

Fuck these fucking fuckers!!

Okay, spending reforms:
Slash military spending by 45%. Immediately end non-governmental military activities. Immediately seize and shut down all private intelligence agencies. Turn all records over to the GAO and sue for redress of costs where appropriate.
Slash agricultural subsidies for any person, company, and organizations with over a 0.01% profit.
Slash all fossil fuel subsidies.

Regulatory reforms:
Reinstate all financial regulations to a 1965 level.
Reinstate all mass media regulations to a 1965 level
Reinstate all anti-trust legislation to a 1960 level.
Reinstate all environmental and worker safety regulations to a 1975 level, and build the appropriate agencies back up to effective levels.

...lack the ability to feel empathy for others.

I think this situation is a case where psychopathic Republicans are preaching to their fellow psychopathic colleagues, and helping them to rehearse empathy--which they clearly cannot truly feel, only fake.

Psychopaths "can sing the words to the song, but they don't hear the music". And that is exactly what is going on here. These bastards need to be *told* that unemployed people are "in a personal crisis" and are hurting? What...so they can fake sympathetic looks? Or try to give reassuring pats on the back to people that they just legislated into starvation and suffering. ARGHHH!

These people SICK! It's maddening and terrifying that they are politicians.

Disgusting beyond belief.
