http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/26/chris-christie-bridge_n_4504079.htmlSeveral months ago,Bill Baroni, Deputy Director of the Port Authority has stated that the closures were part of a traffic study, implying that Fort Lee may not need three access lanes."Every one of you, every one of you on this committee has people in your communities who sit in longer traffic every day because of the special lanes for Fort Lee," Baroni said in November.
In a Dec. 17 press conference on the controversy, Christie stood by Baroni's explanation for the closures, saying that while his appointees did not go through the proper channels for the closures, there was no malicious or political intent in what they did.
Now Christie is contradicting himself. He says he had no knowledge of anything and was misled.lol

(2,315 posts)2. And LIED in tonight's "The Buck Stops Over There" statement
Christie claims that he was "misled by a member of my staff"
In tonight's editorial, Christies Waterloo, the Daily News reports:
Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee, the governors deputy chief of staff, Bridget Kelly wrote to Wildstein on Aug. 13, starting the chain of irresponsible actions...
When Foye began to undo the closures, Wildstein wrote Kelly, The New York side gave Fort Lee back all three lanes this morning. We are appropriately going nuts. Samson helping us to retaliate. Wildstein was referring to PA Chairman David Samson, Christies appointee.
Also looped in to lie about what had happened were Christies press secretary, Michael Drewniak, and campaign manager Bill Stepien.

Duh. At least THREE of his senior staff lied to him (or he is lying with them).
Fail.

Christie would have remained silent.

(2,315 posts)4. No, he would have remained a bully demonizing serious reporters.
He never tried to keep his big mouth shut. Instead he tried his best to ridicule anyone who dared ask him a question.
His methods have never included keeping his mouth shut. I think he can't.

(7,968 posts)5. The media will bend over backwards to give him the benefit of the doubt
They'll actually try to defend him. He's the media anointed Republican candidate.
