is a clue,, the longer he stays in, the weaker the Party as a whole gets,
He wants to do damage to the GOP as revenge for them dumping him outta the
House,
fined his ass $350,000,
and since played him from a distance....
just a guess

(36,281 posts)...in which case he'll be happy to play "the republican stalwart who returned to grace in the party" or some such nonsense, which we'll never actually have to worry about hearing, because he won't win. But still.

(12,017 posts)it seems that most GOP candidates use the election process as an excuse to write something...a book is hard to call it...screed?

(130,974 posts)as he regularly complains about 'the powers that be,' or somesuch.
Why? I don't know. COULD be 'cause they dumped him, and/or many of them saying things about him now, like, 'He's impossible,' etc.
Many think repugs as repugnant against Dems now due to Nixon impeachment, they never got over it.

(51,076 posts)one of the right wing hate supposedly think tanks decided that they were going to have to buy up our press so they could get their message out. They have done exactly that in the years since.
This is a battle between the haves and the havenots of epic proportions. Sooner we all realize that the better we can counter it.

that anyone who made Gingrich their VP would have to hire a food taster for his food taster!

(60,074 posts)Right now, Newt is having his kind of fun, and building his own brand, with somebody else paying the tab. And he'll pick up a few more bucks as a shill/celebrity spokesmodel for Adelson after the election.

(89,252 posts)for delegates or even a position where he can have enough delegates to make Santorum the nominee.
of course he could give more hope by dropping out but he wants to get some personal pleasure in hurting Romney.

(20,851 posts)the guy that is 2nd has been the next GOP "front" runner since IDK Reagan. Newt wants to get to that guy you should have run status so he can do 4 more years grifting.

quaker bill
(8,224 posts)that he has any more intellectual content to offer than the others. There is a difference between the ability to correctly use polysyllabic words and actually having something meaningful and useful to say with them. Blustering narcissism is not useful or meaningful.

(65,076 posts)He is no less an intellectual lightweight than the others you mentioned. I agree with you about them, just don't agree that he is somehow smarter. He's a dolt, too. You can tell by his positions that he thinks in two dimensions.

(5,967 posts)able to have some credibility to hawk some books and get some Fox TV time with some GOP credibility and at the same time gets his revenge on Robofop (romney). The only thing preventing him from making a sound decision is his incredibly huge ego. His ego makes him dumb and he'll pay a longlasting price for it.

(51,076 posts)I'm still surprised that he could find the women that would actually marry him. I pretty much see him in the same light as rushbo. Two peas in a pod
KharmaTrain
(31,706 posts)This last few months have had to be quite an awakening for his huge ego. He found out who his friends were and weren't...and surely mixed with his narcassitic "nature" its manifested into quite an enemies list. There's definitely massive contempt for Millard for shining a light on Grinch's "history" and seeing his poll numbers tank. Again another massive hit to the ego. Thus in Nooooooot's brainstem he's on a crusade now...out to show 'em...give no quarter and believe that everyone else "just doesn't get it". He hopes he can swoop into a brokered convention and "debate" his way into a nomination. His only hope...
And that comes to where the end of this campaign leaves this 68 year old. All his life he dreamed at a shot at the brass ring and he's not ready to slip into obscurity and doing rubber chicken dinners. He's enjoying the limelight...the "love"...the relevancy. The moment his campaign ends so does his political career.
This primary has proven what many of us have known for decades...this shitbox is a loser. He's been repudiated by his comrades and now the rushpublican voters are doing the same. But as long as someone's writing a check or the credit cards can be maxed, this one man crusade rolls on and off into the abyss.

(58,366 posts)is to keep Santorum from winning but I do believe Romney will end up picking Santorum as his running mate.
Gingrich will get paid for his services in some other fashion.
Thanks for the thread, opihimoimoi.
