Romney was at it again: "Guess what? I made a lot of money"

(CBS News) The day after twin losses in the Deep South, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney responded with an unapologetic defense of his business success when asked by a journalist about campaign-trail gaffes in which he referred to wealthy friends even as he courted the support of low- and middle-income voters in economically depressed states.

"Guess what? I made a lot of money," Romney responded when Megyn Kelly of Fox News Channel asked him about offhand comments he has made in the past referring to friends who own NASCAR teams and National Football League teams. "I've been very successful. I'm not going to apologize for that."

Given the golden opportunity to explain how he can relate to lower income people despite having rich friends, Romney couldn't help bragging about his wealth instead.

I scream at it that no one really cares that he is rich nor ask for apologizing for it. What we do care about is him wanting to eliminate all taxes on his main source of income...capital gains. So we see this slick scammer standing there asking us to pay HIS taxes for him...F**k that.

Griping about his EXTREMELY low taxes. That's going to go a long way with people who work for a living, make far less than 1% of his income, and whose FICA and federal income tax add up to a much higher percentage than he pays. Fuck him.

the anti-Bill Clinton. Clinton could effortlessly connect with just about anyone, anywhere. Mittens is his polar opposite. It is to laugh.

Everyone understands the scale of his wealth and Romney has absolutely nothing to prove. He's richer than god. We get it.

Yet for some reason he can't seem to avoid his pathological bragging.

Romney and cohorts - the seven douchebags - didn't make their money legally.

To quote one of my favorite bands - The Roots - if he can't work to make it, he'll rob to take it - and that's exactly what they got away with .

This is his "Oh yeah? I'm better than you" moment. It's all downhill from here

would he then have been afforded the opportunities that he has apparently taken advantage of?

I get so tired of these types of people claiming that they have EARNED what they have. He didn't earn anything, he was given it by virtue of his daddy name.
