Hannity Palls Around With A Slavery Apologist Who Thinks Most Women Are 'Little Whores'

From newshounds. They watch Fox so you don't have to...

As Sean Hannity continues to attack President Obama for his “radical association” with Harvard Law Professor Derrick Bell, I did a little more digging into Hannity’s far more radical and far closer associate, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson. It turns out that Peterson, a guy who thanks God for slavery and compares slave ships to flying coach on airplanes, is quite a shocking misogynist who thinks “America is gone” because women have too much power, including the right to vote. He also agrees with Limbaugh that Sandra Fluke is a whore and a slut. In fact, Peterson thinks most women have "turned into little whores." And that’s only the half of it. If you think Bill Maher’s comments about women are so disturbing that Obama should return Maher’s $1 million donation (as Fox keeps screeching), then I’m sure you’ll want to know why Hannity continues to sit on the advisory board of a charity run by Peterson.

Here's a book about it from the 90s, by Keith Richburg:

http://www.amazon.com/Out-America-Black-Confronts-Africa/dp/0156005832/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331841066&sr=8-1

Richburg was an African correspondent for the Washington Post in the early 1990s, which was a particularly bad time in some African countries (Somalia and Rwanda, for example). His argument was that slavery was terrible, but having lived in Africa and traveled all over the continent for years, he was glad he was born in America instead of Africa. Since slavery is far in the past and Africa's problems are right here and now, I can at least understand why somebody who spent time there might make this argument.

It's actually a pretty good book . . . kind of sad. He starts out talking about his childhood in Detroit - he was a kid during the 1967 riots and those left quite an impression on him.

this guy is so over the cliff in every way that I just can't buy into his understanding the horror of slavery.

Yeah, NOW it's better to be born here, but in 1930? Is anyone actually excusing slavery because it was an alternative immigration plan?

And slave ships were not exactly getting a free ticket, even for steerage. Chained together for weeks, Little food, skanky water, no toilets, and you could be tossed overboard if a patrol ship suspected your vessel of being a slaver.

but reading the drivel that came out of his mouth, all I can say is, the man has some serious issues, not just about women in general, but also sex. Not just oral sex, which is apparently bad and is being practiced by women now (Inquiring minds want to know Rev. Lee - is it bad because women are doing it badly and men do it better?), but just regular, plain vanilla sex, because people are, um, "doing it" without making babies and that's all it's good for. Dude? Really? Please, see a therapist.

I think this is something that should get "screeched" across the airwaves.

Fuck, it should be sent in to Fux by 50,000 people.

I think it would be interesting to investigate the associations of many right wing pundits. I'm sure you'd find they pal around with many vile, bigoted lunatics similar to Peterson.

Is a boy's club of wealthy old men. They see women as little more than accessories. It's hard to figure out how anybody could make comments like that when all men have female relatives. I assure you if anybody told this guy his mother was 'a little whore' he'd come out swinging.

It's interesting that Sarah Palin accused Obama of going back to a time when 'not all men were created equal' and yet the Right defends a prick that applauds slavery. Hypocrisy is one symptom of the 'Right Wing Syndrome' as I call it.
