I wasn't too keen on going through even once but then I moved during the first one and they made me stand there again. How much radiation did I get blasted with within a minutes time? Can getting hit twice so quickly make it more dangerous?

Seriously... they're very low radiation. The flight was at least 100 times as much (and also not something to be worried about)

I don't know anything about Science Daily, but here's a link that might provide info.

I hate those things and haven't been through one yet. I prefer the opt out method. Usually, they pull me out of the line, (I get profiled alot) so I don't even have to ask for it. But the last time I flew I volunteered to be patted down. Both times, (Going and coming from the trip) weird things happened. On the pat down going down to Miami, I failed the first swab, so it was embarrassing when they had to take me to a security room and do it again. Coming back, even though I had been patted down and passed the test, I got profiled and my carry-ons were checked before I boarded the plane. I was the only one in my group who was selected.
There is no winning in these things for some of us.
