The birthcontrol wars: we're being played.


IMO, this is all kabuki shit wherein "they" ask for the moon and "we" give them the stars.

Outrageous demands make less outrageous demands look less, well, outrageous. Ask to end birthcontrol, receive capitulations on abortion.

Too many of their "base" really wants all reproductive freedom STOPPED. That will drag them on to the bitter end with this thing.

There are plenty of women (most of them can easily afford birth control, and they don't care about others) who are under the spell of religion and they are silently fuming about Obama's (perceived) stomping on their religious freedom.

It's being pitched that way in mega churches, and millions hear it every Sunday.

I think this issue is a net gain in enthusiasm for the right.

And it also isn't just some silly trick to turn out the base at the polls, like the dominionist apologists on DU would have us believe.
