Need wishes, thoughts, vibes, etc.

My sister's family went out of town for the holiday, and one of my nephews left the door open to the condo where they're staying about 12 hours ago. Their dog got out, wasn't noticed immediately, and hasn't been seen since. I don't know why, but I can't get to sleep over it. She's such a gentle dog, and there are lots of things that scare her. I would imagine if she's still alive, she's terrified. I hate to think of it. My sister's already found the numbers for local shelters, including Animal Control, and a number of local animal hospitals. It's in central Florida, though, and I'm afraid that the dog has run into traffic or gators. Worst yet, I can't get the picture out of my head of some monster picking her up to "train" fighting dogs on. Any wishes for a safe return would be appreciated. I hope someone kind picked her up and returned her. She didn't have tags on but was chipped (it was a requirement as she was a rescued dog).

It just makes me sick.

If she's free, she'll be getting hungry and head for home. Leave out some food for her, and just see if she isn't there before dark.

Best of the New Year to all dog-lovers!

I also hope some kind soul has taken her in and will try to find her owner. Thank goodness she was chipped.

I feel bad for the nephew too - he must feel awful - and the rest of the family. Crappy way to start the New Year; I hope it turns out alright.

I lost my own dog for a week in 2005 & it was one of the worst weeks of my life. Miraculously, we got him back from a wonderful young girl who had picked him up.

So happy for you & your sister!
