I'm not sure that they elect their own supervisors, but if they work for a large concern, they have not only a union, but in addition, representation on their board of directors at least for many matters.

Plus, it used to be that they had free speech rights enforceable against their employers (within reason). In addition, it is much more difficult to fire a German employee. Plus they have a very, very old tradition of guilds that sort of morphed into trade unions and an excellent system of training workers in apprenticeships. Their industry succeeds in part because of their great employment policies. Superior treatment of workers plus traditions of excellent workmanship equals quality products and a strong economy.

I agree, if they voted for someone who represented only 12% of their populations ETHNIC culture I'd give them the one up
