The war on women in Virginia is particularly egregious. What is most disturbing is the smirky grin of the GOP reps who passed that POS. What really is bothersome is the treatment of the protestors. The prohibitions against free speech and freedom to assemble at the Capitol should have been challenged. There should have been thousands down there with their signs challenging the governor and the legislature.
That racist bigoted white trash Nazi governor should have been run out of town. In any other time the actions of the GOP thugs would have been challenged in no uncertain terms. The legislature and governor do not own the Capitol grounds. The people do. Getting a permit to exercise your right is not only an oxymoron but also a fraud. What in the H is going on when you have to get a permit to protest anything? When you see how brutal the police were with OWS you know how they will treat ordinary citizens. The GOP goons are who set this garbage up.
There is nothing in the Bill of Rights that says you have to get a permit to exercise those rights. One way to take our country back is for ordinary citizens to challenge those laws with open defiance.
The worst thing about Virginia is how the women and children were treated by the local Gestapo. Those police men should have refused to obey the governor.
When GOP reps have town halls they should be infiltrated and protested and demand answers from these GOP bigots.

You make a good argument about the prohibitions that have been placed on the first amendment and I support your argument 100%. I hope you feel the same about the second? I have long thought that the 2nd amendment was my concealed weapons permit.
Now about the OWS vs republicans. Did you support or mock the tea party when they were protesting? I saw a lot of mockery on message boards, in the media, and from many liberal politicians. On the same token I have seen the same thing from many on the right with the OWS crowd.
The question we need to ask ourselves is do we support our rights even when they are exercised by people we don't agree with?
If you are truly a defender of liberty you seek to ensure that ALL our rights are secure for all to enjoy.
