(5,756 posts)I met Sheppard Smith when he was an anchor in Miami. By no means will I claim to have been one of his friends because I just met him a few times through my friends who worked at the same station. I'm not one of those people who needs to claim I'm a cohort of famous people. I'm not.
I will say Mr. Smith always impressed me as an honest, ethical person. So he doesn't just "come across as being decent." He really is.

(14,732 posts)the best of an otherwise bad lot. I particularly enjoyed watching him refuse to play along with the Faux party line during Katrina in New Orleans. He practically tore O'Leilly a new one. Smith was on the ground at the Convention Center during the horrible first days and he told it like it was. He certainly seems to have a good deal of journalistic integrity - in fact, I often wonder how he survives on Faux.
