Then they decided to try this "new sound" and maybe they'd get some work. Rock Around the Clock was released and got no play at all, until nearly a year later, when the movie "Blackboard Jungle" came out and Rock Around the Clock was the main song on the sound track. After being released for a year, it became an overnight success. Haley had a string of good to great hits.
