I used to participate on the DU team years ago but stopped after awhile. I was having some sort of weird conflict between the software and some other program I was using IIRC, so I gave it up. Maybe I'll look at reinstalling it.

my graphics card does most of the folding now instead of the cpu.

I am using the version 7 client... and usually forget that F@H is running in the background. Only time that I notice is when I am using a flight simulator, F@H doesn't back off enough automatically and I have to manually throttle it which is easy with the version 7 client.

"The seventh generation of the FAH software, known as V7, is a complete rewrite and redesign from our previous software. It focuses first on making Folding@home easier to install and use. It also restores an early emphasis of Folding@home which is to be as unobtrusive as possible, avoiding 99% of the factors that might slow you down when using the computer for other things. Thus, you should hardly even notice that it’s running.

By default, unlike earlier versions, this version will not seek the maximum contribution that your computer can make. If that’s your choice, you can still achieve that simply by changing a few settings. Our basic goal is to vastly increase Folding@home installations around the world and thereby accelerate what our scientists can achieve with Folding@home in disease research.
