"Ducked up: That time Republicans destroyed the Dixie Chicks over the group’s opinion"

http://freakoutnation.com/2013/12/22/ducked-up-that-time-republicans-destroyed-the-dixie-chicks-over-the-groups-opinion/

"The Dixie Chicks’s singer said on stage in London ten years ago, “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.”

That statement caused quite a bit of outrage because they had the audacity to have a different viewpoint than President W. Bush’s.

The media pounced and politicians added to the hysteria. Much like ones, that do not take issue over Ted Nugent’s acidic remarks, and even threats directed toward President Obama, to end his life. Much like the ones that call President Obama a “usurper” from Kenya, a radical, with calls for his impeachment, yet they took issue with the Dixie Chicks.

They were called the Dixie Sluts, among other things."

The entire country "music" community can go to hell.

When they came to Munich it was the first concert I visited with my daughter (then 12).

the lead singer by the affectionate name 'Nat' for Natalie..were all up into those young womens' comings and goings
and then she spoke to the truth and that crowd of losers turned on her and the rest of the women.

I saw it as a light being shined on the country crowd and them knowing what was what but didn't want
one 'of their own' calling out the truth.

I know nothing about that music or really about that crowd but they ought to be ashamed for
what they said and did to those young ladies.

Remember when ole' racist Hank Jr. got a standing ovation at an awards show after showing disrespect to the President?
Sure contrasts with the treatment the Dixie Chicks's got.

Also, I am tired of hearing what a "gentleman" George Strait is. He was laughing hysterically at the Obamacare joke at the CMA's last month. A Good ole' Texas boy would never laugh at a joke against a Republican President, especially one from Texas.

And that's pretty fucked up. Just as fucked up as what happened to the Dixie Chicks.

The Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Commandments seem not to apply to country and western stars.
