I am so excited - six more hours and I have decent medical insurance!

I almost can't believe it. I have had really crappy insurance for a decade at a high price with a huge deductible up front and of course the mandatory "previous condition" clauses. So essentially, I have not had health care.

I have been kind of blase about it, but now that it is here I am excited. Imagine, I feel like a first class citizen once more.

Even better, I get Medicare (provided those goddamned Republicans don't fuck it up) in nine months.

I save a few bucks versus my other insurance, but I get to actually see a doctor with OBAMACARE!

THANK YOU OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After not having health insurance for two years and suffering with high blood pressure... I am counting the minutes!

Congrats to all who now have health insurance and a big thanks to President Obama and to my governor, Steve Beshear.

Happy New Year, indeed!!!!

got priced out by continuously rising premiums.

So my fingers and toes have been crossed for the past two years, hoping I did not have a serious expensive medical problem that would cost me my life savings and then some.

In less than 6 hours, I'll have DECENT coverage for the first time in over 15 years! This is the first time the countdown to a new year has actually meant something to me!

I may actually visit a doctor this year for a check up.

Have an appointment on the 23rd. Want to make sure I have that card in my hand when I walk in.
