Limbaugh: Kony is a Christian, and Obama sent troops to kill him

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/larry-womack/yes-rush-limbaugh-even-to_b_1328583.html

It surprises no one that Limbaugh has his apologists. It should horrify everyone that Kony has his, too -- and that Limbaugh is one of them.

Just a few months ago, when the United States decided to aid the government of Uganda in their fight against Kony, Limbaugh weighed in. Here is some of what he had to say:

"Lord's Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them. That's what the lingo means, 'to help regional forces remove from the battlefield,' meaning capture or kill. So that's a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda, and -- (interruption) no, I'm not kidding. Jacob Tapper just reported it. Now, are we gonna help the Egyptians wipe out the Christians?"

Christians? Really? I don't know about you, but what the Lord's Resistance Army does doesn't seem particularly Christian to me. I suppose that to some particularly uninformed listeners, however, Christian and Muslim might serve as good enough shorthand for good and evil... and which one is that funny-named president, anyhow? Yes, Rush Limbaugh actually implied to his audience that US intervention was evidence of movement by Barack Obama toward the massacre of Christians. And, at the time, got away with it.

Limbaugh is just one of them. Of course he used the opportunity to blow some dog whistles.

His voice is grating and he doesn't do his homework on anything. Kony has stolen children to fight his war. Stealing children = being Christian? Whatever it is, it is not Christian.

His lemming listeners will listen hard for their talking points--and they'll mimic those talking points
like parrots.

These lemming listeners don't realize that they're being used.

I think Rush is throwing up propaganda to stop the grass-roots campaign in America that has
come out against Kony and his murderous, monstrous methods of kidnapping children, raping
children and forcing them to kill for Kony. It's horrendous abuse and hell on earth for these child victims.

I'm sure that many know about the grass roots campaign to make Kony a household name and to
urge America to get involved and stop him.

I'm guessing is that Limbaugh is spewing lies and propaganda in an effort to cloud the issues about what is happening in Uganda and to throw cold water on the fire that has ignited against Kony. Young people are using the Internet to spread information about Kony's murderous ways and how he exploits children, terrorizing them and has even forced them to kill their own parents and fight in his war. Some of these children are only 12 years old.

Limbaugh is sick.

Limbaugh's statements obligate him to defend Hitler, Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh, Matthew Hale, Michael Bray, Paul Jennings Hill, Jim Jones, Marshall Herff Applewhite, Jr., "Father" Charles Coughlin, and of course, that paragon of Christian humility, Fred Phelps.

Dang, this could get to be a long list; Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Benny Hinn, the Crouch family, I could be here all night.
