My brother told me something like that when I was a kid. He is seven years older than me. Some of his gems are below. Also, this was the 1980s.

My mother is an executive, a liberal democrat and a feminist. My dad is a moderate republican who worked on Kennedy's campaign. I have no idea where my brother got his ideas. He and my other brother are very conservative republicans. They are surprised I'm a liberal democrat and they are always trying to get me to switch sides.
