It seems to me this would be the perfect time

For the President to actually ask the people for a congress that will support them over the banksters.

There are plenty of examples of support for more progressive thought, let alone the notion of electing people who can work with each other. People who understand compromise. People who will fight for their ideals, but also move to the middle, Democrat or Republican.

I think that without such a call, there is no hope for even incremental progress and Congress will remain mired in gridlock.

President Obama has been making such calls since late 2012 ... those that have been listening know this. And, I suspect he will continue.

I also think his timing has been perfect, in that the vast majority of the electorate was not will/able to recognize the need to elect more progressives.

What is considered "the middle" now is so far right that what used to be the middle is the "radical leftist fringe". This will solve nothing until we throw them all out and start over.
