Apparently, Duck Dynasty feels A&E owes them an apology

'Duck Dynasty' Family 'Disappointed' In A&E

The petition -- which also calls on A&E to formally apologize to Robertson, his family and the show's millions of viewers -- says the reality star's comments "are simply reflective of a Biblical view of sexuality, marriage and family – a view that has stood the test of time for thousands of years and continues to be held by the majority of Americans and today's world as a whole."

The letter reads: "While the LGBT community may be offended by his opposing viewpoint, your rash, discriminatory, and unfair treatment toward Mr. Robertson -- a recognized symbol of the faith community -- is a slap in the face to Faith Driven Consumers and everyday Americans alike."

You would think the stuff flying off the shelves and your next percentage check from items sold would be enough. The timing of this whole thing is either completely suspect or the most brilliant marketing ever.

... it's a separate organization and not directly associated with the family.

Meanwhile, a Christian organization has started a petition drive aimed at getting A&E to reverse its decision to suspend the Duck Dynasty patriarch from filming episodes.

The group -- known as Faith Driven Consumer -- urges people to "stand with Phil" by signing a letter addressed to A&E that accused the cable channel of engaging in "intolerant, discriminatory and punitive treatment" of Robertson.

Mouth breathing troglodytes, you will have to cave to some pretty ridiculous stuff.

Get your knee pads out, A&E. So you can grovel 24/7 until this disgusting family agrees to forgive you.

Because Jesus.

"Everyday Americans" and "Faith Based Consumers" will become popular phrases. We need to be prepared to counter by saying exactly what you point out -- those who support marriage equality and medical care for all are everyday Americans.

Don't let the religious right reframe our arguments.

I'd tell these petitioners, and the Robertson clan as well, that I'd apologize when the men in the family groomed their beards to Biblical standards. I seem to recall something about God ordering men not to have unkempt beards. So, if the Robertsons are so holy and Bible following, I'm sure they won't mind some serious beard-scraping.
