Snowden's Christmas message

With all the hype ahead of Snowden's message imho it didn't deliver what was promised. I expected more — details, specifics, something other than big general threats about how the NSA is spying on us.

That's stuff we already knew.

I just expected more.

And then it was over in what, five minutes if that?

Seems there's less there than meets the eye, a huge moment before the world and we get regurgitated, general warnings — WTF? Does he even know what's in the info he downloaded?

Probably labeled that to give it more drama, so it can be referred to in that grand way.

So, clearly he has not been silenced.

What's the saying, first they ignore you, then they attack you, then you win? We seem to be leaving the ignore you part behind, no more "we aren't spying on you", now it's "we have every right to spy on you."

Greenwald auctioning off interviews and banking a quarter $bil from the guy who owns PayPal was the clue for a lot of people who got fooled the first time.

Trying to refute his argument, or dismiss it, or whatever. Losing. It's all ad hominems, no denials of any asserted facts.

Lots of compliance reports thanks to the Obama-approved compliance budget. Those facts? The rest is sound and fury signifying yet another teabag Benghazi.

...of how things work. Specifically, when a "guy who owns PayPal" finances a new venture to the tune of $250M, said $250M does not go directly into the bank account of the first person he hires.

You're welcome.

Question #1: what hype did you listen to specifically, and what did it promise?

#2: Did Ed Snowden call this his "Christmas message"?

#3: how have you determined that Snowden gave us nothing new when the entire globe disagrees with you?

From your faulty "analysis", you unsurprisingly came up with a faulty conclusion, that it seems to you there's less than meets the eye. If you want to hate Ed Snowden, then that's what you're going to do. If you want to argue that point, however, you're going to need to bring something a little more competent to the table.

And yeah, I expected a whole lot more from him.

to Snowden than meets the eye.

Check out this link:

http://egbertowillies.com/2013/12/27/snowden-edward-nsa-surveillance/

Here are a couple of quotes:

"After seeing Snowden for the first time I was extremely doubtful of him, not that the surveillance program isn’t real, — hell, we knew this since 2006 — but the messenger and the statements he was making were problematic. I am a software developer and knew immediately part of his statement showed a severe lack of actual software knowledge."

"Snowden is not a hero. He brought little more than what was known since 2006. As a software developer that programmed in machine language, assembly language, many high level languages, and one who worked on TCPIP as well as internetworking, I can state categorically that many of his technical statements are simply false. His statement about children growing up in a world without privacy and that being wrong is presumptuous. There has been a culture change with respect to privacy. Mr. Snowden may not like it. However, the Facebook generation is happy to lay it out. That is their choice."

I am a network engineer by trade, and I have been for 20 years. Snowden hasn't made any claims that aren't technically feasible, and this blogger did nothing to show otherwise.
