If it isn't from Champagne, it isn't Champagne. Even US labellng law (finally) agrees!

Cheetos, Doritos, Tostitos chips and salsa con queso though, huh...now I can defend my junk food addiction

Costco has an awesome little Moscato that will flat blow the doors off of most Champagne.

Try this little Santa D' Asti from Piedmonte

They were calling it "champagne" before the law was passed; they also have to put "California" prominently on the label. Unqualified, "Champagne" legally may only come from the red bits:

Also, Korbel? No comment..

I think white grape juice and vodka in a soda siphon would probably taste better.

If I'm going to have champagne, I would rather spend more and get real champagne. Or a good sparkling wine from Italy. It isn't as if I drink it that often.

It can be a bit harder to find, but quite worthwhile specially if you're into the slightly offbeat.

Depending on the list where I'm eating, IF there is no union bubbly I prefer Korbel brut!

Support small, locally owned breweries and wineries, or buy union-made, mass-produced swill? Maybe I'll just stick to water.

There are a lot of Gallo products on the wine list: when did they get unionized? The website also claims MacDonald's is unionized (along with DU favorites Chik-Fil-A and Cracker Barrel).

Great Western Champagne is still around? I haven't had that since my wedding in 1974.
