Granted. I've only lived here for about eight years, but 67 degrees is pretty warm for Christmas Day.

(17,137 posts)San Francisco is usually well into it's grey, overcast, cool, rainy period by now- usually for a month or so.
That time of year usually means getting the "real" San Francisco back - tall buildings disappearing into the fog, rainy wet night-time streets, and a film noir Bogart overcoat feel. Green hills. Streets and sidewalks washed clean. And a reassuring fullness to the reservoirs and snow pack.
We're getting none of that this year. I'm very apprehensive about drought; I wonder what will happen if this warm, dry winter becomes the new normal.

(10,440 posts)Lived around here for my entire life and I never saw anything like this. we are doomed. the resorts are screwed, two of the big weekends are past with no snow and only serious dumping will save them, if they can be saved.

Yes, warm, dry stretches are not uncommon, but aside from the snow a few weeks ago, we've been in a warm, dry stretch since March.
