The Bush Tax Cuts for the rich were passed by a simple majority by Senate Republicans

So, now that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has restored some form of sanity in the Senate by stopping the filibuster-loving Republicans in the Senate, I don't understand those Senate Republican's grief over judges and executives appointed by President Obama being given an "up or down" vote now.

I mean, the Senate Republicans just loved it when Bush handed out $2 Trillion dollars to the wealthiest people in this country, by just having a simple majority vote for it in the Senate.
Conveniently, at a time when the Republicans had the majority in the Senate.

I also remember that many Senate Republicans shouted down anyone who dared to question the appointments that Bush made when he was in the White House.
Especially when it came to executive appointments, saying that "the President has the right to choose whomever he wants to choose to work with him in his administration."

Funny how most of the Senate Republicans forgot they said that about Bush's executive appointments, just a few years ago.

you forget ...

being called on for any statements you ever made in your life, including something you said less than 10 seconds ago, or being responsible for what you've said ...

is not applicable to a Republican.

...exactly who is going to hold them to account for singing a different tune when it worked in their favor?

Outside of certain people on Comedy Central and a partial list of MSNBC hosts?

Anybody in Washington? Anybody in the "mainstream" news? The Teabaggers?

As long as they feel no downside to it, they'll keep right on doing it.

Harmful laws should always be easier to pass. How else are you going to destroy the country?

Budget issues are not subject to filibuster rules under the Congressional Budget Act of '74 .

It's the same rule used to pass ACA after Brown won the Kennedy seat.

My belief is that we, the dems, we're played like a violin and made to eliminate a part of the filibuster so when the the other party manages to miraculously win in 2014 they can eliminate all of it.
