(29,676 posts)I've been through a few floods-93 and 95 were mindboggling.
We never really got over the snow we had in May this year. We lost so many trees and now, with ice coming in, we'll lose more.

(26,289 posts)We got a taste of it, yesterday. Not a whole lot but enough to make it difficult to drive up the hill and stop at the corner.
I just finished filling up water bottles and I'm rounding up candles, flashlights and lanterns, just in case. Firewood is piled at the door and batteries are at hand.
My nephew and niece are on the road from Asheville and were in Cincinnati about an hour or so, ago. Fingers crossed they don't get caught in anything bad.

Typically I'm stoked for this type of weather. As a snow removal contractor, it's live and die by the weather this time of year.
Not only is this type of weather a loss for us on salt, it's also our family holiday gathering tonight that may have to leave sooner than expected...
