(146,329 posts)I love it.
I hope you don't think that a cute picture would start some huge controversy.
It's cute, it's just kids.

(146,329 posts)I like this OP. I'd be interested to see other children's reactions, too. I think you may have misunderstood my post. I was just hoping to see some other reaction shots of kids to a wedding kiss. The photo in the OP is cute. I liked it.

(20,277 posts)Sorry.
It's hard to tell sometimes what people are saying. Typing isn't the best form of conversation, especially if you don't know the person in real life.

(146,329 posts)I meant nothing more than that it would be fun to see similar photos. Children react in amusing ways to things, so I'd be interested in seeing other reaction shots. The photo in the OP is interesting, in that in shows three quite different reactions to the situation. That's its charm, I think.
I actually looked for similar photos of boys, but didn't find any. I'd be curious to see if their reactions would be similar to the three girls or if they'd all be the same. Next time I go to a wedding, I'll see if I can spot reactions. Usually, I'm watching the two people who are getting married. That's probably why there aren't many photos like that one.

(20,277 posts)then they would holler "That's enough!". I would ask why. The reason they gave was 'too much kissy, time for the bunny dance'. This was when they were about 3 or 4.

(146,329 posts)For me, it was in the seventh grade. Girls, before just pesky, became interesting, somehow. I distinctly remember trying to figure out why, but finally just embraced the change, and was glad I did.
Really, though, I think most children react the way they do to PDAs because they're children, and just don't get the whole concept. That's a good thing, I'm sure. "Ewww..." seems like an appropriate reaction for both boys and girls as little kids.
HappyMe
(20,277 posts)at the girls when they were little. When they did get interested in girls, then it was me that got frowny! Not because of the girls, because I wasn't ready for that just yet.

(146,329 posts)just reaching the age where it's beginning. It's fun for the great-uncle to watch. For their parents, perhaps not so much. I don't think any parent is ever ready, really.
And yet, here we all are, as a result of those changes in perception between boys and girls. The mammal in us will take over, whether we're ready or not, it seems.

(71,611 posts)Judging from the clothing/shoes, they're older than me ... which means they've probably passed on by now. It's a bit strange to have that be my second thought upon seeing this photo. Then again, since I'm living on "borrowed time" since beating the odds last January (entered hospital ER with 75% chance of dying), I'm suddenly aware of both my mortality and my gratitude for each day.
My first thought was: Hey, that's how I looked at that age ... and how I behaved, too!

A: Because they're ugly and they stink!
It would only be a few years before that all changed.
