Cliff Steans (R-FL), a birther, one of the leaders of the Solyndra witch hunt and defender of subsidies to Big Oil companies, told constituents at a town hall meeting Belleview, Florida, on February 25 that we dont need any more national parks in this country and that we need to actually sell off some of our national parks:

(397 posts)Unfortunately I can easily see it happening. Trouble is (for him) he'd be butting heads with some of the other rich fucks that like to take their extended vacations in Yellowstone and Sequoia.
On a more hopeful note they did try that once before in history and the people rallied up against it. I know how I will vote on it if the issue ever COMES to a vote.

(10,602 posts)In the end we are going to have to divorce these despicable bastards or run them out of the country for the sake of survival. They are certifiably criminally psychopathologically insane. Add to that sadistically viciously racist and bigoted. We can't live with these people.

Is probably the Rails to Trails initiative that gets back the right of way of abandoned railroads and converts that unused land to hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Those are extremely popular not only with tourist but with residents. In some places, developments are being planned along the trails using them as one of the attractions to sell the homes.
Not only is this idiot stupid but he is anti-business with this antagonism to our parks.
